Job Description: |
My client is an exciting innovating materials company, producing a range of engineered high performance materials following 10 years of Research and Development and US$40 million of investment. The products have a unique blend of properties that meet demanding requirements for a variety of hi spec industries, including automotive, aircraft, sports and footwear.
Having come towards the conclusion of the development phase, they now require a Chairman who will work with the Managing Director to give consistent focused commercial leadership. The successful candidate will be involved with the business on a regular basis, at least 1.5 days per week, ensuring the business is being driven to ensure stakeholder expectations are delivered. They should expect to be available to mentor a team of capable and talented people. Someone who can focus the team upon delivering objectives and provide the active direction and structure for successful commercialisation of a unique product.

Candidate Requirements: |
Candidates should have experience of effectively leading a publicly listed company, ideally from a materials or technically based business, with a good understanding of coatings.
* A commercial approach to business is mandatory.
* A visionary who can communicate well with all levels and inspire the organisation.
* As it is the intention to take the company into the public domain within the next 18 months, experience of IPO placement would be a definate advantage. The opportunity to make an investment in the company would also be well received.
* Due to the importance of China and the Far East to the company, experience within this region is important.
Dependent upon the candidate, the involvement is flexible between 1.5 days per week up to a full time position. |
